Repic co-authored two peer-reviewed papers and presented at more than 20 conferences and workshops. He earned a BS in marketing and political science as well as an MA in political science with an international relations concentration at Rutgers, and an MBA from Felician University. EXCELLENCE IN PROFESSIONAL SERVICE ABIGAIL HUNTE ‘10, Coordinator of New Media, assists both colleagues and students in sharing the College’s message on social media and the website. A lead in the 2014 redesign of RCC’s website, she is responsible for developing and imple- menting the College’s social media and website guidelines as well as training others to add web content. Hunte supervises student interns who run RCC’s Snapchat account and contribute blog posts. She advises the Humans of RCC club and manages their exciting Meet & Eat events. She created the Name that Café contest (almost 700 votes cast) that resulted in the naming of RCC’s “Hawk’s Nest.” Faculty and staff can develop their confidence and technical skills by attending some of the more than 20 workshops Hunte has offered through CETL and other campus groups. Her presentations range from email tips and tricks to assisting faculty in web- enhancing their curriculum. A lifelong learner, she continues to take classes at RCC and attends virtual conferences to enhance her skills. Hunte jo ined Campus Communications as Assistant Coordinator of New Media in 2013. She holds a BS in computer science and a BA in communication arts from Villanova University. She earned a web development certificate (with a 4.0 GPA) from RCC in 2010. HONORARY DEGREE Leonard Kurz Awarded Honorary Degree at Commencement Leonard Merrill Kurz of Nyack, a graduate of Grinnell College and Stanford University, received an honorary associate’s degree from RCC at Commencement on May 21, 2017. Kurz is the president and creative force of Forest Creatures Entertainment, a motion picture, television, and new media production company established in 1993. Leonard Kurz serves as a director and officer of the Kurz Family Foundation, founded by his late father, Herbert Kurz, a businessman and philanthropist who created the President’s Student Support Fund at RCC in 2007. Now named posthumously for its founder, the Herbert Kurz President’s Student Support Fund has provided more than $1 million to assist more than 1,000 students in need, enabling them to stay in college and achieve their goals. At RCC, Leonard also established the Automotive Technology Center and the Peace Garden, both named for Herbert Kurz. In the greater community, Leonard Kurz established the Herbert Kurz Business Consortium in Rockland County, a coalition of Brooklyn College, Rockland Community College and the CEJJES Institute, which offers six free events annually on issues related to business. Kurz also established HYLA (Hudson Youth Leadership Academy), a coalition of Rockland Community College, Creative Response to Conflict, Free the Children, and Me to We Leadership.
