Side of the Bay at 3am
A still moon still cracks me like my name is dawn
Paints conclusions I've never drawn with the soulful red hue of the sun and all the immediate threats of a gun
So I've awaken again to fight its dangers
And to fall too deep in love with strange lands and even stranger hands
That stand close enough to be familiar
But when I feel her
She escapes
I just need a taste
Of daybreak in this twilight
I would like one restful night of sleep amongst these disrespectful guests
That chooses to test my levels with challenging devils at this ungodly hour
I sit with my feet anchored in the sand, Insomnia gripping my brain like a rubber band
Thoughts in my hand
Wondering why I ran here
