Research as our Guide Research has always been the guiding force behind our work at the SC Campaign. Here’s a sampling of what we have learned in the past year. SC has the 11th highest 47% decline teen birth rate in the US in South Carolina’s teen birth rate over the past two decades Nearly 60% of South Carolinians 15 teens age 15-19 give birth every day in SC 8 in10 agree the state should fund distribution of contraceptives for sexually active teens 73% of teen births in South Carolina are to 18-19 year olds More than South Carolinians support sex education in schools that emphasizes abstinence and teaches about contraception SC Campaign 10 PARTNERS IN PREVENTION The Office of Adolescent Health has awarded Children’s Trust of South Carolina (Children’s Trust) funding to develop programs and services to support pregnant and parenting teens in South Carolina. As the lead agency, Children’s Trust will partner with the SC Campaign, The Benefit Bank of South Carolina and the SC Center for Fathers and Families to complete the project.
