Welcome Letter

It gives me great pleasure to share the first edition of SBOA: The Magazine.

The magazine is the culmination of nearly five years of providing opportunities for owners of self storage facilities across the country to improve revenues and reduce expenses through pre-negotiated deals through the SBOA.

The enhanced buying power of the SBOA has allowed us to create a base of more than 4,500 member-facilities. By joining together, owners of all sizes and numbers of facilities have access to cost-saving opportunities that they would not ordinarily have. Today, we are more than twice the size of the largest self-storage REIT in terms of numbers of facilities and the enhanced buying power that our strength-in-numbers implies. We could not do what we do without the support of our Members and we thank you.

The success of the SBOA would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of our valued Preferred Vendor Partners. These vendors believe in the model of supporting the companies that support them. This model provides mutual success for the vendor (sales volume) and the self storage operator (savings). As we continue to grow, the pre-negotiated deals continue to improve.

In this magazine you will find some very readable content on some of our members, as well as our vendors. I hope that you find the value in the magazine as well as the SBOA in general. Thank you for reading and for your support of the SBOA.
