Q Jones: What closing remarks would you like the world to know about you?

G Mayor: I believe in the Godly and universal rule of do unto others as you have them do unto you; that karma is a bitch; and you reap what you sow. I live by those beliefs.

Born in Martinez, CA, raised in Los Angeles, Gwen began singing at the early age of 4 years old in her Baptist church. She is a sultry soulful song stylist with a captivating stage presence, prolific songwriter. She is the owner of her indie label, Melodicchic Records. Gwen sings about her life journey and love experiences that everyone in any age group can relate to. She brings an emotional, passionate and heartfelt delivery in her performances. Her mission is to return to meaningful lyrics, good singable hooks and intricate melodies. Fred Pittman, a staff producer at Fantasy at the time, heard about Gwen’s performances in the Bay Area and signed her to Fantasy Records, recorded her first album and during that time she was the supporting act for the Dramatics. She has toured internationally – Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Canada; performed for the King of Singapore. She has shared the stage with James Brown, EnVogue among others. Gwen has been produced by Grady Wilkins (Whispers), Preston Glass (Aretha, Whitney), Felton Pilate (Confunkshun), Claytoven Richardson (Narada Michael Walden) and D. Tavie’ (Lakeside). She penned her first club joint ‘All I Wanna Do Is Dance’ - featuring L.J. Reynolds (Dramatics) which was a major hit with the Oakland club scene. Gwen was honored with the opportunity to record the Motown classic, ‘Your Precious Love’ with the "Emperor of Soul", the late, great Mr. Ali Woodson of The Temptations. This was his last and final recording. Look for it on her upcoming CD along with her new release, ‘Ol’ School Love’. Gwen continues with her mission to KEEP SOUL ALIVE.
