Q Jones: Are there any stories behind your music and which song is your favorite song?
Gwen Majors: There are many stories behind the music I have written. I wrote a song entitled “To Me You Lied”. It was based on an experience with a person I met in Japan.
I was angry and wrote it in 5 minutes. It was a description of actual events. I believe my favorite song that I have written is ‘Ol School Love’. It shows the growth in my production and my vocal execution
Q Jones: What brings you the greatest joy?
Gwen Majors: At this stage in life. Good sex. Just being honest.
Q Jones: What is the best advice you can give to the next generation coming up, who wants to be a singer or writer?
Gwen Majors: Go in knowing that entertainment is the most difficult field to become successful in, but knowing that, stay dedicated, grounded, and no matter how good you are PROMOTION, PROMOTION, PROMOTION is the key. There is no such thing as a “starving artist”. Entertainment is a money business. So if you don’t have the money to invest in your career, the find someone who does.
Q Jones: I know you have own record company Melodicchic Records, what kind of artists are assigned to your label?
Gwen Majors: Presently, my label is for my recordings. I am not a producer of other artists and that is not my calling at this time. I am an indie artist as opposed to a record company.
Q Jones: I know you have shared the stage with many artists, is there anyone else you wanted to sing with but didn’t and if you can sing with anyone from this generation who would it be? Why?
Gwen Majors: I would love to do a duet with Joe. I love any and every thing he has ever recorded. He could be man of my dreams and I am sure many other females feel the same way. His music is something you can feel. From this generation, unfortunately, there is no one.
Q Jones: What should our readers be looking forward to, other than music this year?
Gwen Majors: My marriage to a great wonderful sexy loving man. As soon as he finds me. LOL
