Kiwi teams jump on
board to help Australian
farmers
KickStart Breakfast Awards
The Sanitarium NZ team heard about
some of the self-driven fundraising
activity happening at Sanitarium Australia
- and we wanted to help too.
Our teams have found creative ways to
raise funds to send across the ditch to
help out the farmers in Australia who are
suffering as a result of the drought.
The NPD team have been cooking up a
storm and selling lunches to staff, sales
have been tapping into their contacts
like the Alternative Meat Co. and selling
discounted product along with delivering
healthy snacks for a cost to office staff
during the workday. We’re looking
forward to the Commercial team’s hat day
experience and the marketing gala sale.
If you have a fundraising idea for the
cause, simply email Internal.
[email protected]
and let us know, we’ll check the calendars
and would be happy to share the details
with the team.
Every year the KickStart Breakfast
Programme Awards celebrate the people
who make the programme happen. The
Breakfast Clubs rely on the work of
devoted and inspirational volunteers,
student leaders and school staff to make
this programme successful. There are
three main categories; The Unsung Hero
Award, Student Champion Award and the
overall Breakfast Club Award.
Both Rob Scoines and Jessica Manihera
were present at two of the ceremonies
across the country and both returned
inspired and energised by seeing the
success of the programme and the impact
it has on our Kiwi kids – their learning
improvements and the safe environment
that it provides.

For over 25 years Sanitarium has been
sponsoring the Youth Ambassador
programme run by World Vision which
allows 20 high school graduates from
across NZ to become part of a global voice
for injustice every year. The Programme
provides young New Zealanders with the
tools to lead the 40 Hour Famine and
increase their knowledge about social
justice. It’s an opportunity to learn about
World Vision’s work around the world
by travelling across areas in need of
aid support. Last year Josh McCombie

Team joined the Youth Ambassadors on
their journey to Uganda and we’ve been
encouraged by the message that Josh
brought back from this mission. This year
we have once again been invited to send a
representative from the Sanitarium family
to travel with the World Vison team to
Uganda in December.
