CLUB NEWS / KLUBNUUS
Dear Homeowners, members and guests,
We have had good rain in the last two weeks, and are in a very fortunate position to
have our dams full at the end of winter. After the rain we are looking forward to some
better growth, but will have to keep our eyes on weeds. The greens are doing well but
we have had some Poa Annua germinating in the last few weeks. It is not affecting
ball roll. Fairways and Tees will receive folia fertilizer application.
The Junior PGA Pro Am and Regional Fund Raising Pro Am was yet again, a huge
success. We have to thank our many sponsors especially Titleist, San Lameer Master
Homeowners Association and the Mark McNulty Junior Foundation whom without this
event, it wouldn't have been possible.
We would like to thank the main sponsor of the 4x4 Men's Team Challenge, PWC for
their contribution in making this event such a success as well as Stellenbrau who
gave us an endless supply of beer for our Beer Festival themed event. The weather
was perfect and the course was in immaculate condition, thoroughly enjoyed and
complimented by 128 players in the event. It was great welcoming 6 new teams to
this year's event, and from what I have heard we will see them all back next year.
Please note that we have moved our monthly braai in September from 27 September
to 20 September due to the Australian group playing against our members. Reinard is
yet to finalise a team and we would appreciate if you can put your name down to play
[email protected]
The course will also be closed for annual spring treatment from 9-11 October 2017.
From time to time we have members/homeowners who want to play during the few
days per year when we are the hosts of a tournament or golf day and they then
complain when we are not able to assist them with a round of golf. We would like to
explain the benefits of having these tournaments at our club. Not only does it keep
your subscriptions and Country Club levies down but it also promotes our course and
Estate to the rest of the world therefore having more golfers renting your villa in the
rental pool, promoting sales of property and generates an income to keep the country
club independently sustainable as a non-profit organisation. It is hard to put a value to
the marketing we get out of these events but it definitely contributes to making our
Estate one of the most sought after Estates in South Africa and increases the value of
your property. We can assure you that we always try and accommodate all our
members and homeowners and having these events is never the right time as we have
over a 1000 members visiting the 600 plus properties during the course of the year.
We try and communicate these days well in advance and always will always arrange
for a special rate with one of our neighbouring courses if booked in advance.
