The data collected provides both policy makers and department heads with a picture of their successes, as well as barriers they face. These reports also identify improvements to how departments serve Limited English Proficient (LEP) communities. OCEIA uses this annual data to help shape the services it provides to City departments. By analyzing citywide trends, OCEIA can make recommendations about changes to policies and procedures. After reviewing department specific data, OCEIA can develop new trainings and tools to help departments improve their language services. 3 / LAO 2020 This year’s data demonstrates that the City is meeting its language access requirements.
