to participants’ self improvement and European Citizenship concept. The
understanding that the differences are richness, similarities are meeting point will gain more
power for participants.
It will contribute mainly to ICT as we will benefit from ICT and telecommunication
system with job shadowing visits to local and regional partners. Students and parents will be
trained in topics such as methods to use safe internet, cyber security and creations of security
by expert teachers and trainers.
The problems that we address are:
In the new approach used in education students is responsible for their learning
process and the teacher acts as facilitator who shows them how to learn instead of teaching
them directly with cliché methods. This approach includes performance works which students
do both in school and out of school and these performance works require searches. So in this
step students need to reach information with the quickest way: INTERNET. This situation
does not cause to any problems because since November 2011, the usage of safe internet
called “White Internet” has been started. However, outside school, especially at homes,
students are open to any threat and distractive while searching on internet. They are
unfortunately open to distractive objects such as games, advertisement, and the worst is cyber
crimes such as sexual abuse. In this respect we included partnership of Kayseri Police
Department Cyber Crimes Unit. As a result of this problem, students fail in their academic
studies and at the worst scenario they fail in life.
The other problem is the unconsciousness and unawareness of parents. We will try to
encourage them to use safe internet which can be done by everybody easily with procedures
explained in Turkish Telecommunication Association’s website. Thanks to seminars and
