called Oasis Fellowship, which works with the most needy of Grace’s community; Healthy Kids/Healthy Parents, a program aimed at obese parents and their children, where the two generations work together to learn about exercise and nutritious, healthy cooking; and a nightly Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. program for 25 children at the nearby Zaragosa Elementary School. Additionally, Grace UMC is expanding its preschool to a full day beginning in August, which will enable it to accommodate twenty more children. It is also encouraging the East Dallas Legal Clinic to expand its hours to meet the needs of the approximately 50 people each month who must be turned away. “When we look at where we have come in twenty years – with no debt – everyone just nods and says, ‘God wanted a church on the corner of Junius and Haskell to serve God’s people.’ And here we are!” The building is truly alive with activities for all – this summer is the second year that Grace UMC was chosen to host Project Transformation, during which high school and coll
