OUR ADMISSIONS PROCESS
The admissions process includes an application, parent interview,
student assessment and teacher recommendations. For kindergarten
applicants, we also conduct a preschool observation.
Kindergarten is the main point of entry to Sacred Heart, but inter-
ested families with children at other grade levels are encouraged
to contact us. For older students, we ask for report cards and
standardized test scores.
A Parent’s Guide to the Admissions Process accompanies this
viewbook. It provides the most current details about the admissions
process, deadlines, tuition and fees, financial aid, and admissions
criteria. Parents should also visit shschicago.org to learn more about
our school community.
TUITION ASSISTANCE
One in five families at Sacred Heart receive some kind of tuition
assistance. We have a vigorous tuition assistance program, includ-
ing special support via a grant for students of Hispanic heritage.
Additionally, financial aid may be available for our specialized after
school classes, class trips and summer camp. Tuition assistance
doesn’t need to be repaid and a request for assistance has no bear-
ing on the admissions process. Requests for and receipt of tuition
assistance are kept in strict confidence.
A SHARED INVESTMENT
Sacred Heart relies on the engagement and enthusiasm of our
parents to ensure the success of a variety of school activities and
projects. From fundraising support to volunteer efforts, parent
participation is valued and the gift of your time is appreciated.
Thank you for considering Sacred Heart Schools. We believe whole-
heartedly in the quality of the education we provide and hope that
you will, too.
