AN ATMOSPHERE OF WISE FREEDOM At Sacred Heart, learning takes place in the classroom, as well as at meets, during service projects, while rehearsing or on field trips. In other words—everywhere! We are committed to offering experi- ences that nourish the mind, body and soul, and that support the personal growth of each student. LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE Student creativity thrives at Sacred Heart. In visual arts classes, colored pencils, paint brushes and clay are the learning tools for our K-8 artists. Musicians find a home in band; others lend their voices to Glee Club or the liturgical choir. The community delights each year at the talents displayed during the all-school talent show. And in the spring, the Middle School musical showcases the prodigious acting and singing gifts of our students. Offstage, the show is largely student-run, a testimony to their sense of responsibility and managerial skill. A CHEER FOR ATHLETICS Whether a student is a gifted athlete or simply has fun participating in individual or team sports, athletics is about more than physical accomplishment. Sports activities offer a unique opportunity to work on character traits and ethics, to learn to support teammates and to navigate between a robust desire to win and a healthy perspective when there’s a loss. At Sacred Heart, learning doesn’t stop when the school Athletics is an integral part of the Sacred Heart experience. We have more than 50 athletic teams that play either in fall, winter or spring and an impressive coaching staff. Students, parents, faculty and coaches all share in our community’s vigorous team spirit. And we have more than a few trophies and conference championships to show for our efforts! bell rings at the end Personal of the day. 14
