TAA ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR!
Debbie Wiatrek, a Vice President with Capstone
Real Estate Services. SAAA is one of 25 local apart-
ment associations affiliated with the Texas Apart-
ment Association (TAA).
TAA has presented this award since 1993 to an
outstanding chief executive of one of TAA’s local
affiliated apartment associations.
Bilby has been SAAA’s Executive Direcctor for
almost six years, having previously served as the
association’s first Director of Government Relations
for more than four years. Prior to joining the SAAA
staff Bilby worked in the rental housing industry in

both supplier and owner/management roles.
In 2017 SAAA increased both membership and the
number of rental housing units it represents. The as-
sociation also continues to set new records in politi-
cal action committee fundraising and participation,

Teri Bilby, the Executive Director of the San Antonio
Apartment Association, received the Texas Apart-
ment Association’s Association Executive of the Year
Award in San Antonio April 27 during the associa-
tion’s annual Education Conference & Lone Star
Expo.
Bilby was nominated for the award by San Anto-
nio Apartment Association (SAAA) 2017 President
and in dollars raised to support community service
programs. SAAA is a long-time supporter of both the
American Red Cross and the 100 Club.
The Texas Apartment Association is a trade associa-
tion representing rental housing owners, managers
and companies that supply services to the rental
housing industry. The Austin-based association has
more than 11,000 members who own or manage
more than 2 million rental housing units in Texas. TAA
has 25 local affiliated associations in markets around
the state.
