ig congrats to Susan Sheeran, who was
named the Stanley Hammer Honoree at the
Installation of Officers in January. I have had
the honor of working with her for many years
and cannot think of a more deserving person. Her
ability to think outside the box has made her a trail-
blazer in the San Antonio apartment industry. Lead-
ers like Susan truly help achieve our vision, “A future
where rental housing is a valuable partner in every
community, where everyone has a home.” Appreciation Day Cook off on March 30th. Bring
your families and join us for food, fun and games!

our sponsors for making this event a great success.
Know someone that is not a member? Now is the
time to invite them to join and benefit all year from
everything that SAAA has to offer. The application
fee is waived during the Membership Drive, which

Thank you to all of our members that participated in
Legislative Day at the Capitol! We even raised over
$500 for our Political Action Committee from mem-
bers that rode the bus, thanks to the leadership of
PAC Chair Alan Ross. If you have not already made
your PAC donation please consider doing so…every
dollar counts. Your contributions and representation
makes a big impact in strengthening our voice and
advocating for the rental housing industry. We will
continue our advocacy efforts all year so be on
the lookout for opportunities to get involved in our
grassroots efforts. Join the force on May 4th for Elec-
tion Day, when we will be poll watching to support
San Antonio City Council candidates endorsed by
SAAA. The force can have a strong influence if we
all work together. April is Residential Property Management (RPM)
Careers month. Visit RPMcareers.org and follow
RPM Careers on social media to stay updated and
help promote the rewarding career path that the
rental housing industry has to offer. The TAA Educa-
tion Conference and Lone Star Expo is also in April.
Join us in Houston for education seminars, network-
ing and the big Expo where someone will win a new
Jaguar XE. We have had two winners from San An-
tonio so make sure you find me to buy your winning
ticket! All proceeds from ticket sales go toward sup-
porting the Texas Apartment Association Education
Foundation, whose mission is to raise awareness
about careers and opportunities in our industry and
support formalized training programs at all levels.
