in 2007 , he launched Pitch45 , a specialist roofing business passionate about creating new living spaces that are beautiful , innovative and practical through exposed timber roofing .
“ Pitch45 was one of the very first companies in South Africa to specialise in exposed roofing and , to date , has completed more than 100 projects . One of the first projects completed , House Viking Trust , won the Institute for Timber Construction South Africa Gold Design Award in 2016 . For the past decade , we have held the rating of a Class A truss erector recognised by the ITC-SA ,” highlights Klaus . He continues , “ All materials for Pitch45 are sourced both locally and internationally , depending on the needs of the client and project . The greatest challenge is importing quality fasteners at a reasonable price .”
Klaus was importing fasteners since Pitch45 ’ s inception but , due to his reputation in the industry , he finds himself selling the stock to other artisans who also want to produce the same standard of craftsmanship .
Therefore in 2018 , he officially founded ScrewPro , a niche business focused on supplying high quality German manufactured fastening components made by Eurotec Germany . “ As the only licensed distributor for Eurotec Germany in South Africa , ScrewPro specialises in top quality screws , timber connectors , decking systems and high-quality solutions for construction sites ,” says Klaus .
The German standard
All ScrewPro ’ s stock is meticulously sourced from Germany – all carefully engineered to perfectly suit the job at hand . “ Germany has a longstanding exceptional reputation worldwide that focuses on high quality standards , especially in engineering regulation and education .
