Always request a full scope of works from the potential contractor and insist that the contractor states exactly which materials will be used. Things to look out for are the thickness and grade of roofing material as well as insulation and the grade of fasteners to be used. Warranties usually need to be applied for in writing so ask your contractor who will handle the warranty application. SupaClad is owned and managed by André September, who has been in the construction industry for more than 20 years, and for the past 10 years has been dedicated specifically to roofing and cladding. September, having worked for two of the biggest roofing companies in the Western Cape, has gained a wealth of knowledge in installation and supply respectively. Says September,” We believe that the South African roofing industry is heading in the right direction, but there is still a lack of good practice and a serious need to identify and specify the right materials for a specific job. What needs to be understood is that every component has an impact on the performance and lifespan of a roof. Our mission is to add value to the industry in terms of improving installation standards as well as specifying the best available products to enhance the performance and lifespan of a roof. “Our two site teams boast a wealth of experience with both team leaders active in the industry for a combined total of more than 70 years. The rest of the team is made up of well- trained artisans and workers who strive to adhere to the company’s motto: do it right the first time. We also believe that there is no job too big or too small.”
