Hedges Hedges... the pride and joy of a home owners’ garden and essential to maintain. The key is consistency in trimming which will create a luxurious and prestigious appeal to your home. Hedges provide a great sense of privacy, also protecting you from any outside elements and act as a natural buffer to noise and wind. The downside to hedges, is that if you let them overgrow, they will lose shape and you will end up with tall, gangly and unsightly trees, and the light to your property, along with the correct balance of hedge to house will be lost. This will not only cause loss of privacy, but also loss of a substantial amount of money - in the value of the existing hedge and the costs to replace them. Need some hedge inspiration? Check out some work by Peter Fudge - the expert in hedging! Hint: if you have lost control of the shape of a hedge, it is a worthwhile spend to recreate the lines again and after this initial reshaping you can keep up maintenance with a quarterly trim.
