Уважаемые читатели , в этом номере журнала я предлагаю вашему вниманию текст « All is Well that Ends Well » и задания к этому уроку .
Тема потери и нахождения потерянного навеяна недавним личным опытом .

Мы употребляем предлог « out of » в значении « из », когда что-то выпало изнутри чего-то , например , out of my mouth , out of my handbag и т . д . Противоположный ему по значению – предлог « into », который обозначает « положить что-то вовнутрь чего-то », например , to put a letter into my handbag , to put water into the electric coffee maker

3 . Не забудьте , что после глагола « to call » в значении « звонить » не употребляются предлоги , например , to call his credit card companies Некоторые пояснения к тексту . Хочу напомнить , что название текста « All is well that ends well – Все хорошо ,
что хорошо кончается » – представляет собой пословицу , которая существует как в русском , так и в английском языках , и обозначает практически одно и то же .

It is so easy to lose something . Sometimes it drops out of your pocket or falls out of your handbag . Jack is not an absent-minded person but that ’ s what happened to him : he lost his wallet . He came home and didn ’ t fi nd it in his shirt pocket . All his credit cards , his driver ’ s license , his health insurance card , a little cash and his bank check book were in his wallet . The questions ‘ Where ? How ? What else was in it ? How to fi nd it ?’ came to his mind .
First of all he called his credit cards companies and banks to cancel his cards .
Second , he decided to go to the Motor Vehicles Department ( DMV ) to get a new driver ’ s license . Then he will call his Health Insurance Company and order a new card . But cash will be lost forever . Nothing can be done about it . Jack was very upset . Where could it happen ? How could it happen ?
The next morning Jack left home very early to go to the Motor Vehicles Department to get a new driver ’ s license . After that he needed to go to the bank to withdraw some cash from his checking account .
But the fi rst thing in the morning he had to go to his cafe to unlock the doors for his employees , to put water into the electric coffee maker and to turn it on and then he could go to DMV . When he opened the electric coffee maker he saw something black at the bottom . ‘ What is it ?’, thought Jack . He took it out and couldn ’ t believe his eyes : it was his wallet there . He realized what happened . When he was emptying the electric coffee maker yesterday the wallet fell in there and Jack didn ’ t notice it . He started laughing . ‘ All is well that ends well ’, thought Jack .

( Я надеюсь , вы не забыли , что в вопросительном предложении употребляются вспомогательные глаголы : в данном случае – это будет вспомогательный глагол « do » для настоящего времени в первом предложении и вспомогательный глагол « did » для прошедшего времени во всех остальных предложениях .)
B . Обсудите с партнером тему , связанную с потерей и нахождением потерянного . Обратите внимание на глаголы to lose – lost , to find – found . Употребляйте вопросы предыдущего задания .
