WEED CONTROL PROGRAM
UPDATE 2018
Inspection Program
We are pleased to report that all Agricultural staff, received
effective and positive cooperation from municipal residents
and producers. A considerable amount of technical
information and control measures were discussed, that
resulted in a very successful 2018 weed control program.
Weed species targeted were: Scentless Chamomile, White
Cockle, Tall Buttercup, Oxeye Daisy, Orange Hawkweed and
Himalayan Balsam. Orange Hawkweed and Himalayan Balsam
were only found in a select number of sites, and we believe
they can be eradicated from our MD by persistent control
methods. In total, 424 formal inspections were carried out,
and numerous other contacts were made throughout the
summer season with landowners and other agencies.
