Highway 44’s Rural Roots
Farmers Market
The PACO Agricultural Society has
undertaken the establishment of
a farmers market to be hosted on
select dates, primarily in Fawcett,
however the Flatbush Community
Association will be hosting at least
one of the dates. Both options
have exceptional visible locations
just off Highway 44, providing great
potential for vendor sales.
Based on grassroots feedback,
local buyers would be thrilled
to have a farmers market in our
backyard. Along with local support,
the advantage of several large
campgrounds and two golf courses
in proximity would provide a ready
source of customers for the market.
Additionally, having farmer’s market
locations that can be viewed from
Highway 44 is a perfect setting to
pique the traveler’s interest. Beyond
the benefit to the market vendors
themselves, we’re excited for the
spin off benefit of increased traffic
into rural communities. The grand
opening will take place in Fawcett
on May 17. To learn more, check
out mdlsr.ca/Farmers-Market.
