the makeup of our players, in that we encourage respect of
coaches, opposition players and referees. We play the game
hard but fairly.
In Cork Constitution the player always comes first and
we pride ourselves in making this happen. There is a holistic
approach to players, in that we have a business committee to
look after their study, CVs, and career advice. The club will
also strive to have the best Coaches, Physios, Strength and
Conditioning and Management made available to all Cork
Constitution teams.
Hugh O Donovan (Chartered Coaching Psychologist) is
Director of the Cork Constitution Emerging Talent Programme
(CCET) which prepares our young players to achieve the
highest standard of rugby possible, i.e. Cork Constitution
Senior Team, Munster, or Ireland. When the call goes out
from the club looking for volunteers we are never left wanting,
volunteerism is the key corner stone of the Club.
One should always plan for the future, but the work done
now will achieve these targets. I believe the game is still coming
to terms with professionalism and this will evolve at its own
pace. Cork Constitution will continue to invest in the Club
Facilities and give the very best opportunities to all players
whether that is the amateur player, or prepare the player for
the professional game. Whichever path taken, these are Cork
Constitution players, part of our family, and I believe these
players will be involved in our great club when their playing
days are over and will carry the ball to keep our club at the Top
of Irish Rugby.”

“The club has been heading in the right direction for
years now and consistently challenging for trophies
and last season was further proof of the strength
of Cork Con as a club. Brilliant performances
throughout the season but as great teams do, they
save the best for knockout rugby. Leaders in key
positions, Niall (Kenneally) has been fantastic in
leading the team and consistently performing at a
high level, he’s crucial to our success. Con play
great attacking rugby and are deserved champions
again.”
