out for all three senior sides, have a successful Colts team and increase numbers within the Mini and Youth teams. We also now run a Ladies XV who entered the leagues for the first time last season and are still looking for their first league win - this will hopefully come this season. We also hope that the Girls teams will increase in numbers to the extent that each age group (U13, U15 and U18) can play in some matches. The club had a good tour to Gibraltar in May and has been on tour now for many seasons thanks to our 3rd XV skipper Steve Harney who is also the key driver behind each years tour. The rugby was a good standard and everyone at the club was very friendly. I already knew half a dozen members from my days in Wareham Round Table. As a young man I played football but quickly became a rugby convert and now describe myself as a “rugby nut”. I am a VIP member at Swans and have jointly sponsored a home game each season for each of the past five seasons. At Swans you can get close to the action and the post-match deliberations in the clubhouse are always enjoyable. Visiting teams frequently comment how much they enjoy playing away at Swans. I also support Exeter Chiefs, so have been lucky enough to see them play at Twickenham in the Premiership finals in each of the last three seasons. My goal is to visit every ground in the Premiership with my friend Martin who is a Gloucester fan. We travelled to Limerick in February to watch Munster narrowly defeat Exeter Chiefs and this coming season we hope to watch Rochelle host Gloucester. Whoever you support and wherever you watch rugby the camaraderie is unbeatable. Good luck to Swans for the 2019/2020 season.” David Williams, Jordan Williams Law Solicitors 01929 552692 Lynwood Vets Unit 9, Leanne Business Centre, Sandford Lane Wareham BH20 4DY next few years. Indeed the success of last season was built upon young players establishing themselves in the 1st XV and filling gaps left by the old guard. The main aim will be to build playing numbers across all teams, age groups and gender now.” Youth “Youth development is very important to the club - it is what the club has been built on. Regularly the 1st XV will have 13-14 players who have come through from M&Y, Colts into the Senior sides in its match day David Williams Jordan Williams Law www: trafficsolicitordorset.co.uk jwlaw.co.uk Email: Tel: [email protected] 07793 055104 or 01202 805211 Specialist Road Traffic and Divorce/Family Law Solicitor Free Initial Consultation Driving Speeding, No Insurance, Drink / Drug Offences: Driving, Mobile Phone, Failure to Stop and Report, Penalty Points Disqualifications, Traffic Light Offences Family Law: Divorce / Separation Property & Financial Settlements, Children Issues - Residence, Contact, International Relocation, Unmarried / Cohabitation Couples - Prenuptual Agreements, Property Disputes www.rugbyclubmag.com 65
