Blairgowrie RFC is a fine example of the important role that a club
can play in their local community. Rugby Club Magazine recently
caught up with their President Stephen Souter to find out more about
how they have been getting along lately.
He told us, “The mood at the club is
very positive at the moment. Coming off
the back of a successful season where
we won the league and promotion
to Caledonia 1 League. We are
now playing some summer touch
rugby for all the family with an
average of 30 players down every

“Preparations
are
now
underway for preseason. We have
most players confirmed to play
again next season and also a few new
faces coming on board. Confidence is

high and we hope we can keep the good
form going in a more competitive
league.
“Youth
rugby
is
very
important to us. As a small-town
club, we do struggle to bring in
new players, especially as it is
predominantly a footballing
town. This means that we need
to focus on the development
of our youth all the way up
