The role of chair is multi-faceted in the overseeing of the general running of the club from finances, fundraising etc., in conjunction with an excellent committee and officers, to see that members, players, coaches from senior to under age have resources at their disposal to recruit, train and look after the wellbeing of players to be successful in an enjoyable manner.” Atmosphere “The club is at present on a high with our seniors winning three out of four trophies available to them with promotion to the All Ireland League and senior status for next year achieved. The under age teams have all been in the mix in finals with our under 16 Girls unbeaten in winning Leinster League and our under 16 boys beaten in the Leinster Cup Final and other under age teams competing and winning South East finals.” Present “The year has been amazing with an added bonus that our mini numbers have never been stronger with over 300 minis having fun every Sunday morning. The club is ambitious and hopes to achieve promotion in their first year in senior rugby while building our under age, both girls and boys, and providing a diverse and safe environment for all our members and prospective members.” PROUD SPONSORS OF ENNISCORTHY RFC FARRELL CHEMISTS LTD WE CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTHCARE • Prescriptions • Consultation & Advice • Family Care • Fragrance • Cosmetics PHONE (53) 9233189 [email protected] 16 TEMPLESHANNON ENNISCORTHY CO. Integration into the senior game is achieved under our director of rugby John Spud Murphy who maintains a hands on approach between senior coaches and management with youth coordinator and under age coaches to identify and improve talent available in club. The senior squad introduce players coming out of youths into senior rugby by providing advice and mentoring on introduction.” Community “We are very much an open community club who are conscious of our position and responsibilities in our Paddy Farrell is an ex-player of Enniscorthy Rugby Club. He recently spoke to Rugby Club Magazine about his long and positive association with the club, saying, “I started playing for Enniscorthy for their U9s team and continued into my 30s when injury took its toll and I decided to hang my boots up. After I stopped playing I decided to help out coaching and continued this up until last year when unfortunately due to work commitments I wasn’t able to get down to the club as often as I would like. As an ex-player and supporter I am very proud of my connection with Enniscorthy Rugby Club and everything thy have achieved this season with the seniors promotion to the All Ireland Leagues for the first time. The club are very much a local base and a real centre of our community offering a great service to our young and old alike. My business Farrell’s Pharmacy are a long-term sponsor and supporter of the club and we like to help out whenever we can. I would like to encourage the lads now that they have reached the All Ireland Leagues to continue sticking together, training and playing well and making sure that they continue with the club’s success for many more seasons to come now that they have this great opportunity!”
