We would like to outreach to the community even more and would love a little extra space and a 3G pitch.” Simon Welham is an ex rugby player and a sponsor of the club with his business Welham Jones Funeral Directors. He recently told Rugby Club Magazine, “I played blind side for many years including a spell with The Bank of England until my body started to suffer and after playing some matches in Bahrain on difficult surfaces I made the decision to hang my boots up. Connections with Sevenoaks Rugby Club came through sponsorship and it was a great way to connect my business with a great club who were very noticeably part of the local community. This season has been outstanding for the club with the promotions and success but the club have always had a great infrastructure and provide a fantastic service to the local community. The seniors are a real and necessary role model to the younger players coming through who are the life blood of any club. I would like to congratulate everyone involved at Sevenoaks Rugby Club on their efforts and encourage them to keep it going for many more generations to come!”
