Worth Old Boys FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG Worth Old Boys RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB Worth Old Boys RFC have enjoyed a hugely successful season to become Champions of Surrey 3, and have earned our return to Surrey 2 for the fourth time in our 25th season in the Surrey Leagues. The Club is on a high, with a 100% win record at our home ground in Whiteley Village Walton on Thames, known affectionately as “Fortress Whiteley”, where we receive Clubhouse hospitality from Reeds Weybridge RFC – themselves champions of Surrey 1 and worthy winners of the Junior Vase this year. Rob Boughton is the Managing Director of Thakeham Property Group and a principal sponsor of Worth Old Boys RFC. He is also a big fan and supporter of rugby and recently took time out of his busy schedule to speak with Rugby Club Magazine, “I suppose it was mainly through my brother- in-law James Henwood that I became involved with the club. James has been a real club stalwart for over a decade and it’s great to see his team finish champions this season. Our company Thakeham Property Developers are delighted to have sponsored the club in their Champion winning season.” “Unfortunately, due to family and business commitments I have been unable to attend any matches this season but I am fully aware of the club’s excellent achievements finishing top of a very competitive league which went all the way to the final game of the season. “Hopefully as my children Finley and Lillie get a little older I can take them along to see their Uncle James play. As a company we are very keen on supporting grassroots sports. We are also a sponsor over at Horsham Rugby Club and having played the sport myself, mainly as number 8, I know what excellent values and friendships can come from being involved with local rugby. Myself and everyone at Thakeham Property Developers would like to congratulate all at Worth Old Boys RFC on a superb season wishing them the very best for the 2019/2020 campaign!” 36 Issue 86
