Amersham and Chiltern FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG Amersham and Chiltern RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB A mersham and Chiltern RFC have a new coaching team in place for the new season and are optimistic ahead of the campaign. Rugby Club Magazine recently caught up with their Chairman, Scott Jarrold, to find out more about the good work the club has been doing. Involvement He told us, “I started playing rugby at Amersham & Chiltern in 1980 when I was five years old! My father brought me along to the mini section as he was keen on rugby and A&C happened to be the closest club at the time. I went through each age group in the Minis and Juniors and then played for every team in the Seniors as well – I’m still playing now for the 4th XV! This is my first year as Chairman and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of the previous 23 people who have held the role, especially those of my father who was Chairman from 1997 until 2000.” 32 Issue 74 The Role “One of the most challenging things will be making sure the Mini and Junior sections of the club are integrating fully with the Senior part of the club. The most rewarding aspect will hopefully be to see all our senior teams perform well in their respective leagues but also watching the Minis and Junior sections develop their kids. I’m also head coach of the U9s age group in which my son plays, so one of my big challenges this season will be to successfully introduce them to contact!”
