represented Worcester in the Academy 7s
tournament.
Several members of the club rugby
committee actively engage in assessing
potential and assimilating into senior
squads and also keeping those who go off to
university engaged and interested in what is
going on at the club.”
Community
“We are definitely a community club.
We have close links with local schools and
disability groups who use our facilities for
matches and sports recreation. Worcester
Warriors use our club facilities to hold their
DPP sessions and training camps which
encourage children from the local area to
attend.”
Challenges/Ambitions
“Our biggest challenges are the rugby
landscape changing and a potential move
away from the traditional local Saturday
rugby because of the pressure from live
premiership matches, TV scheduling etc.,
to the use of the club on alternative day
i.e. floodlit night matches and having the
volunteers available to run this. Our aim is to
take care of succession planning to ensure the
club is a vibrant and viable venue for playing
rugby for men, women, boys and girls.”
