Mowden Park
CLUB
Amongst the 1st team ranks at Mowden
Park are a trio of young players looking
to make a name for themselves in senior
rugby. Callum Burke, Alex Dunne and
Josh Murray have all made the transition
from junior rugby to the senior game and
have been involved in DMP’s pre-season
preparations.
Director Of Rugby Danny Brown was
pleased to see the club’s junior system
producing such talent: “It’s great to see these
lads coming through the minis and juniors
set up and making the step up to senior
rugby. It shows that we’re continuing to
strengthen the pathway from minis rugby
all the way up to the first team.”
The strength of the Mowden juniors
pathway was further shown by the success
of the club’s U17 side last season. The
DMP youngsters made it all the way
to the Final of the National Bowl,
eventually finishing runners up to
Taunton RFC at Sixways. The U17s
first won the North of England
Bowl title, before beating Sutton
Coldfield in the National Semi-
Finals. Some of those successful
U17s will be looking to follow in
the footsteps of the other youngsters
now training with the club’s first
team.
