He told us, “From a facilities, social
and membership perspective things
are hugely positive, also our
coaching set-up is excellent
and all players are buzzing
with Wasp’ Premiership
Player of the Season Jimmy
Gopperth
and
Craig
Hampson joining our
coaching team to further
develop strategic game-
planning and technique
of our young squad of
players. Playing depth
and recruitment remain

we hope our Wasps
coaching team will help
us attract new players.”
Positives
“Things went absolutely
brilliantly last season as there are
so many positives that will help take
the club forward, for example:
Phase 2, the final stage, of a new drainage
system has been installed under the main pitch at
a total project cost of almost £80k, mostly funded by
Sport England. We should be able to discount
wet weather as a reason for not using the
main pitch in future and accommodate
Friday evening floodlit games
even the night before Saturday
fixtures.
Our major achievement
has been the establishment
of a Junior Academy from
Under 8s to Under 16s in
collaboration with the
RFU and local schools
We ran a successful
Junior 10s tournament
in April 2017 at which
our U14s played their
first competitive games.
Generous
sponsors
continue to help the Club
to maintain and improve
the infrastructure and
fabric of the Club.”
2017

players, field a regular second team and
increase the number of Vets fixtures, especially
