Senior player Zak Jenkins recently took the time to tell Rugby Club Magazine more about the club. Involvement Atmosphere He told us, “I’ve been involved with Skegness rugby club since 2005 at the age of 11. A junior member of the club from the under 14s approached me asking me to join the club. The thought of playing a new sport that is relatively unplayed around the area and unknown to me, drew me towards the club and the game.” “Having come from a season where both the first and the second teams had both won their respective leagues, the mood around the club is very positive and players are eager to start the forthcoming season and continue the success of the club.” Last Season The Role “Having taking over the captaincy for the forthcoming season the most challenging aspects of my role is to keep players focused and interested in the club and the game. The most rewarding moments come from watching the team play well and reacting in a positive manner during the toughest of games ensuring that team morale is at a maximum.” 74 Issue 73 “The 2016/17 season for Skegness rugby has been the most successful in the club’s history. With the firsts winning the Midlands 5 East North League and the seconds winning the Lincolnshire Merit League and finals cup it pushed the club toward a great future.” 2017/18 “2017 is going to be a tough year for Skegness, but the plans are to build a stronger unit within the club and push forward
