Tim Humfryes of club sponsor FAS (Fire
& security Alarms Ltd) recently spoke to
Rugby Club Magazine about his positive
association with Newcastle Emlyn RFC,
saying, “I have been sponsoring the club
since the opening of the new club house
and see that as an on-going relationship.
As a company we like to support local
community clubs and it’s great to see the
club celebrating 40 years of rugby.
Due to family and business commitments
I don’t get down to the club as often as
I would like but still attend a few of the
events and matches over the course of
the season. Newcastle Emlyn Rugby
Club have established some very strong
roots within the local community and I
would like to wish everyone the very best
of continued enjoyment and success for
the next 40 years!”
Having these players act as Role
Models (they all can be seen down
watching the 1st Team during the season
when they have a Saturday off – Scott
Williams’s brother Alex Williams is
currently Captain of the 1st Team – 3rd
season leading the side) for our current
mini’s and juniors players can only help
10 Issue 73
to motivate and inspire them to try and
succeed in their own rugby development
as well.”
Ambitions
“Hopefully in 5 years’ time the club
will still be playing in the Championship,
still playing an attractive brand of
rugby and producing and developing
players not only do play for our club but
hopefully for the top end of our regional
and national game. Producing and
developing players to play at the highest
level has to be the main aim of every club
team in Wales.”
