“ I have a great passion for rugby having previously had a long association with Tynedale Rugby Club . When I moved to Stockton I was happy to maintain the strong links already established between KP Snacks and Stockton RC . KP Snacks have sponsored Stockton for the past ten years and it is great to see the club building a significant platform for rugby in the community .
They have an excellent rapport with the youth of Stockton which is helped in no small way by their new groundsharing arrangements with the cricket club in the town centre . I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone associated with the club the best of luck for the future .”
Mark Duffy , General Manager of KP Snacks
RC : How ’ s the general mood down at the club at the moment ?
KK : It ’ s been a strange season . The 1st XV have some fantastic results , beating the top teams , only to lose a game that they probably would have been expected to win . That said , we finished mid-table with a very young squad , who will only go onto improve next season and beyond .
The season was rounded off in fine style when the 2nd XV won the County Cup , beating Hartlepool Rovers in the final on their own ground . We also established a Vets team who have played four games since February . I think we are going to have a good end of season dinner !
RC : What are your plans for the rest of 2017 ?
KK : As soon as the season finishes we have a short breather and then it ’ s back to training and preparation for next season . The club dinners will be followed by a visit by our most famous ex-player , England international and British Lion , Geoff Parling .
We will then be putting a small stand in at our new Ground ( we are now in partnership with Grangefield , a local Academy ) and our changing facilities / sports centre , which was formally part of the Academy before they got a new building , should also re-open .
