Amman United
Steve Day of club sponsor SCD Auto’s recently told Rugby
Club Magazine, “I started playing for The Amman as a 20
year old; I suppose it is a natural thing to do, if you live
locally and play rugby. I mainly play for the clubs second
team which is great fun and still competitive. I play mainly
in the position of centre.
My business, SCD, has recently taken up some sponsorship
to support the club and I hope to increase that as my new
business grows. Everything seems to have fallen into place
for the club this season and we have even had a little bit
of luck at times. Amman United is a great rugby club and
I wish everyone down there the very best of continued
success!”
“Amman has always been my local club; I live
about a quarter of a mile from the club
and started with The Amman when I
was seven years old and apart from
professional rugby it’s the only
club I’ve been associated with.
When I finished in Japan I
promised the Amman that I’d
go back and play alongside
my friends, brother-in-laws
and brother. I’ve had a long
affiliation with the club and
am proud to be part of the
community.
I’ve always been involved with
the club, helping out with training
etc. and I always wanted to finish
my career back with The Amman. The
team’s done very well, winning the league
and the Bowl and have played really well. They’re
a great bunch of guys and have really deserved
the success.
The Amman United Rugby Club is at
the heart of the village and everyone
within the valley is associated
with it. It’s great for the area
and it’s great to see the team
being rewarded for their hard
work and hopefully it can
