As there are so many clubs in the vicinity, it’s very hard to sustain too many junior teams in the area. That said, where we have benefited is through offering senior rugby to players struggling to make the transition from Colts at bigger clubs.” Success “Three years of hard work has resulted in a core group of players who have good levels of skill and physicality, and know how to play collectively. There have also been some exceptional additions to the team, who are capable of playing at a much higher level. The structure we ask players to work around offers a good platform, but we also have some excellent individuals who enable us to exploit the unstructured phases of play.” Part of that will be the recruitment of a new Head Coach to build on the excellent work of our current coach Elisi Vunipola. Whoever comes in has a great group to work with, but plenty of scope for improvement.” Integration have to improve certain elements of our game if we’re to be equally competitive again next season. “Quite simply, we let players coming through play. They enjoy being part of a 1st XV environment with equal access to coaching opportunities which enable them to develop at their own pace.
