Lincoln At Duncan & Toplis we are great believers in supporting the local community and Lincoln Rugby Club is such an organisation that we are delighted to be involved with. The ethos of rugby is built around values that reflect our own here at the firm; we work together as a team, we respect our colleagues and we enjoy what we do. We have been sponsoring the club since 2013 and it is fantastic to have seen the club go from strength to strength during that time. We would like to congratulate the team on their promotion and wish them every success next season. Images courtesy of Mike Lincoln XV have pitted their wits in a higher division. Although it hasn’t always gone their way, the third team continue to battle well and have given some of the younger players a great introduction to rugby. The Lincoln Ladies also deserve a big mention. Even though they are not as high in the league as the previous season they continue to do the club proud. Their numbers are continuing to grow and it is great to see more and more women and girls interested in taking up rugby. Youth rugby is majorly important to the club. If the senior sides are going to continue to develop it is crucial to have a good juniors and minis section. All players retire at some point so developing players from a young age helps to build great foundations for the future and I know the coaches will work closely to help achieve this. The juniors and minis sides are making excellent progress this season, including the Under-15s having reached the NLD Shield Final. The club is restructuring its junior section so they can train alongside the older players to aid their transition into the senior game. The future continues to look bright for the young talent coming through at the club. Although the season is coming to a close there is still plenty of hard work to be done. The coaching staff will already be starting to think about pre-season and www.rugbyclubmag.com 29
