Indigenous students face particular barriers within their education because there is a cultural gap among indigenous communities that struggle with discrimination and exclusion. Education systems in Mexico have never been designed with the indigenous culture in mind, there aren't enough teachers that speak their native language as well as textbooks and resources and it makes it harder for them to understand the basic learning everyone should have.
