Dear NPAworldwide Member, You may still think of NPAworldwide as a sleepy little organization that has been around a long time and doesn’t really change much. While we do have traditions and practices that are well established, we continue to try new things. Like a duck on a pond, much of the hard work is happening below what is visible on the surface. Consider some actions in 2019: • With the help of Sarah Freiburger, referrals from members like you, the hard work of our Directors, and an acquisition, we have grown NPAworldwide membership to record levels. We have more than 570 locations as I write this note…a record. • We have added functionality and features to Matchmaker each month. • A brand-new user interface was released for Matchmaker in September of 2019. • We continue to refine and reinvest in the NPA Job Board and results are trending positively. • We have hosted some great member meetings in Long Beach, Sydney, Porto, Toronto, NYC, and Hong Kong. Hope to see you in New Orleans March 12-14, 2020! • Your volunteer peers have hosted more than 100 Practice Group or Specialty Group calls in 2019. Notes followed thanks to Liz Carey! • Australia has embraced and become active with Practice Groups in a very committed way for 2019. • The Membership Engagement Team of Marcia, Kara, Kristen, Kelsea and Liz have made hundreds of member-to-member introductions. • We have published 2 dozen newsletters in 2019 thank to Veronica Blatt. • We have hosted dozens of webinars and “Coffee Calls” to inform and educate. • Chris Paull has trained on systems over 250 times this year. • We attended the RCSA Conference, the TEAM international meeting, and APSCo in NYC as a quest for new ideas and partners. • We have maintained a relationship with APSCo and TEAM for benefit of the network and for members. • We completed the purchase and transition of IPA members. The deal is final and complete and will have a payback of less than 2 years. • Each elected Board Member spent in excess of 40 hours in meetings and on face-to-face calls with their fellow board members. • The Board facilitated a benchmarking Member Survey follow up where satisfaction was measured to increase nearly 20% from 2017. • The Board used member feedback to lay the groundwork for a new strategic plan, scheduled for 2020. • NPAworldwide continued to implement and evaluate a new leadership structure with a smaller, more effective and efficient Board and Area Leaders closely aligned with and local to the membership. We hope to keep NPAworldwide comfortable but growing. Be aware, so many are doing so much to keep this soon to be 64-year-old organization healthy and productive. Thanks to all of you as members and an extra thanks to all those doing splits! Best wishes for 2020. We hope to keep NPAworldwide comfortable but growing.
