RSR’s dedication to safety mean that we also ensure
that all worn parts are replaced on a regular basis. Not
just “normal” consumables such as brakes and tyres,
but also suspension and other driving components,
meaning you don’t get a “beaten up” track car, rather
something that drives as new.
If you’ve built your own hardcore “track toy” or
driven your own performance car on track for any
reasonable amount of time, then you’ll already
be familiar with the costs of the extraordinary
maintenance and expensive track-oriented parts. If
you’ve never taken your own car on track before, we
of course highly recommend you try it – just don’t
kid yourself about the real-world costs!
Another reason the Nürburgring is one of the scariest
permanent tracks on the planet is the little run off
areas and tricky grip conditions are constantly
taking their toll on who dare to drive it. Crashing
is therefore a variable that actually needs to be taken
into consideration.
You may think “Yes, but my car has already an
insurance, what’s the difference?”. Almost all UK
insurance companies, many German and other
EU insurance companies, and “normal” rental cars
(Europcar etc) do not cover the Nürburgring. Even
if you are lucky enough to be covered, any crash will
raise your insurance premiums, possibly cause your
insurance provider to drop you and seriously lower
the value your car. Therefore in both a rental or your
own car, if you crash you’ll have to pay something in
sehr geringe Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass deine Runden
durch technische Probleme jeglicher Art unterbro-
chen werden und damit eine sicherere Atmosphäre.
Das Engagement von RSR für die Sicherheit bedeu-
tet, dass wir auch sicherstellen, dass alle Verschleiß-
teile regelmäßig ausgetauscht werden. Nicht nur
„normale“ Verbrauchsmaterialien wie Bremsen und
Reifen, sondern auch Fahrwerk und andere Fahr-
zeugkomponenten, so dass man keinen „ rampo-
nierten „ Rennwagen bekommt, sondern etwas, das
wieder wie neu fährt.
Wenn du dein eigenes Hardcore- „Track-Toy“
gebaut oder dein eigenes Performance-Auto für eine
gewisse Zeit auf der Strecke gefahren hast, dann
kennst du bereits die Kosten für die außergewöhnli-
che Wartung und die teuren Motorsportteile. Wenn
du noch nie mit deinem eigenen Auto auf der Stre-
cke warst, empfehlen wir dir natürlich dringend, es
auszuprobieren - aber mach dir nichts vor über die
realen Kosten!
Ein weiterer Grund, warum der Nürburgring eine
der unheimlichsten permanenten Rennstrecken der
Welt ist, sind die kleinen Auslaufzonen und kniffli-
gen Haftungsnieveaus, die ständig ihren Tribut for-
dern, wenn man hier zu blauäugig herangeht. Der
Crash ist daher eine Variable, die tatsächlich berück-
sichtigt werden muss.
Du denkst vielleicht: „Ja, aber mein Auto ist bereits
versichert, wo ist der Unterschied?“. Fast alle briti-
schen Versicherungsgesellschaften, viele deutsche
und andere EU-Versicherungen sowie „normale“
Mietwagen (Europcar etc.) decken den Nürburgring
