Cover Story Photo by Tiffany McGhan RF: What’s a topic passionate about? JC: Heeling you’re RF: What are your biggest pet peeves? JC: Not shutting gates after someone goes through them, not holding true to your word, and lying. RF: Name a couple of your favorite music artists. JC: I like George Strait, Jason Alden, and Lil Wayne. RF: You are clearly a winner - how do you do it? JC: I think the way you win is by literally never thinking you are good enough and always trying to get better at what you do. Also, you win by learning to control your reactions in high pressure situations. RF: What is the biggest life lesson you have learned? JC: The biggest life lesson I have learned is not to worry so much about everything. It can all vanish in a matter of seconds so enjoy the moment, be positive, and don't sweat it. RF: Life is short, what is the biggest thing you would like to leave behind when it's your time? JC: I want to be remembered as a guy who lived my life with all I had and who roped for the love of the game. RF: Tell us a 4th of July rodeo run story you’ll never forget. JC: One 4th of July story I'll never forget is the time I had Bubba Strait down $25,000 playing cards in between rodeos. I’m still waiting to cash his IOU. The biggest life lesson I have learned is not to worry so much about everything. It can all vanish in a matter of seconds so enjoy the moment, be positive, and don't sweat it." JADE CORKILL 18 SUMMER 2015 • rodeofame.com RF: Tell us about your biggest win in your career thus far. JC: My biggest win was last year when I won the regular season, the NFR average and the world title in the same year. That's something I always dreamed of doing, and actually getting to experience it was one of the only times in my life that I was proud of myself and thought I'd done good.
