ROCKNATION ISSUE 24 PAGE 15 You received some worldwide press on your “Nasty Habits” EP CD. Please tell us about that. Rubén - We feel fortunate because since we released our first work, the feedback has been always positive. There were many people waiting for our new studio album, in Europe, America and Asia, great expectations have been created thanks to the E.P. Jorge -Yeah, Rubén is absolutely right about this. We were launching our E.P. without any expectations beyond showing what Tequila Sunrise can become, but the response has been awesome. It is really a breakthrough to impact beyond your own mother land with just an EP and that encouraged us to give it all with our first studio album. What other bands have you appeared with in concert? Rubén - We have shared stage with national and international bands. Strangers, Frenzy or Maverick are some of the Spanish bands we have appeared with. Also, we were opening shows for Bonfire and King Kobra, it was pretty awesome for us. If you had to tell someone what your music sounded like, what bands would you mention? Ceci - Uff, you put me between a rock and a hard place: Mr. Big, Ratt, Toto, Journey, Van Halen, Dokken, Hurricane, Danger Danger, Shadow King, Signal, Lion, King Kobra… The sound of the band is pretty eclectic, with a bunch of different flavors and signatures we bring from other people we use to play with, so that is the reason we are not only a hard-rock or a rock band, we play music the way we want trying to stay away from the cliche. What bands have the biggest influence for song writing for your music? Jorge - Being such an eclectic band all members have their own influences. In my case Queen and Whitesnake are the greatest ones. But that’s really the soul of the band; different ways to approach music joined together so we can have something special in our sounds and songs, and I guess that’s something you can appreciate in our compositions. What plans do you have for 2017? Ceci - Work harder, try to do a lot of gigs, as many as we can, we would love to be able to do some gigs in the U.S.A. Spread our music and continue composing new songs for another album. Show Tequila Sunrise to everybody and try that people who trust in our music are proud to do so. Thank you for taking time for this interview any last words to the fans? Thanks a lot to you for this interview, it has been a real pleasure. Millions of thanks for supporting and relying on Tequila Sunrise. The people who support our music are the only reason to continue working harder.
