Dead by Sunrise: New project of Chester Bennington

The History of Dead by Sunrise started to form in 2005 while Chester Bennington was writing songs for LP's album ''Minutes to Midnight''. According to LP’s frontman:

"I came up with few songs that felt and sounded really good, but I knew they weren't right stylistically for Linkin Park. They were darker than anything I'd come up with for the band. So I decided to work on them on my own, rather than turn them over and transform them into Linkin Park tracks."

So, the foundation of Dead by Sunrise was laid much earlier, when future bandmate Shuck met Bennington during the recording of Linkin Park's first album ''Hybrid Theory''. According to Chester Bennington, the band's name, which was previously "Snow White Tan", reflects the time and the atmosphere within which the album is recording.

One track from Dead by Sunrise, a song from 2006's Underworld: Evolution soundtrack called "Morning After," was seen streaming on the Dead by Sunrise MySpace page. It's a decidedly more electronic-oriented affair than anything Linkin Park's recorded so far, taking a few stylistic cues from older Rob Zombie tracks and keyboard-leaning British rock bands like Placebo and Muse.

Dead by Sunrise's label, Warner Bros., hasn't pegged a specific release date for Out of Ashes, stating only that it's "tentatively scheduled for a fall release". On May 10, 2008, Dead by Sunrise performed three songs ("Walking In Circles", "Morning After", and "My Suffering") at the 13th anniversary party for Club Tattoo in Tempe, Arizona.

The song titled "Morning After" was written by Chester Bennington and originally performed on December 9, 2001 at the “Live in Berlin” concert. This was the first time that Chester had "officially" performed the song under a new name: Dead by Sunrise.

Linkin Park's frontman, Chester Bennington officially launched his side project, Dead by Sunrise, in 2009 fall with a debut album titled Out of Ashes. The release of debut album took place on September 30, 2009 in Japan and October 13, 2009 for the rest of the globe.

Two singles are out: one called "Crawl Back In" and the other "Fire". Then there were released 2 very impressive music videos “Crawl Back In” and “Let Down”. Now we’re looking forward for new songs and clips from Dead By Sunrise.
