Sleeping Pad Combination \r\nYour sleeping pads play a key role in keeping you warm in camp. They insulate you from the ice and snow below and keep you from losing body heat directly into the ground. Using both a closed cell foam pad and inflatable pad offers a good combination of insulation and comfort: the closed cell foam pad underneath insulates from the snow and the inflatable pad on tops lifts you off of the potentially colder foam pad beneath. Remember that the thicker the pad, the further you are off of the snow so you’ll sleep warmer! One of your pads must be full length. Inflatable Sleeping Pad Inflatable pads tend to be more comfortable, but they can be punctured. A full length pad insulates you from the ground far better than a 3/4 length. Closed Foam Sleeping Pad \r\nA second full-length or 3/4 length closed cell foam pad is required. This pad is used in combination with the first sleeping pad.
