SHREWSBURY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL EVENT HIGHLIGHTS SHREWSBURY FAMILY GOLF DAY 2015 Thunderous downpours fail to dampen the spirit of a great Family Day at Lotus Valley Golf Resort! On Sunday 3rd May, 52 competitors arrived at the stunning Lotus Valley Golf Resort for our annual community sporting event, ready to battle it out on the fairways and greens, in the hope of being the winning pair in this year’s Shrewsbury Family Golf Day. The Texas Scramble format, pioneered in last year’s event, meant that the pairs had to work together as a team, choosing the best of two shots each time. Knowing the strengths (and weaknesses) of each other’s game was vital! Unfortunately the heavens opened half way through the tournament, and with extensive thunder and lightning all around the course, the committee were left with no choice but to curtail the competition early. Results were determined from the most number of holes which the whole field managed to play. Upon inspection of some rather soggy score cards, this turned out to be just 8. Well done to all of our category winners, who despite the rain, left with smiles on their faces thanks to some great hospitality and prizes, courtesy of event sponsors Gateway Equipment, Yamaha, Samitivej Hospital, Krungsri Bank, The Bangkok Club and Nemita Spa.
