W E L C O M E THE TEAM - IF WE WERE HELMETS... “AGV PIS TA GP ” I think it’s fair to say that this year’s MotoGP championship has been the best one ever. There has been so many twist and turns, none bigger than at the recent Sepang race. I type this just hours after watching the race in Malaysia, and I was left utterly speechless. Heading into the weekends racing, Rossi made some pretty big accusations aimed at Marquez and Lorenzo, mainly Marquez. This did not sit well with the Spaniards, and this would set into motion the biggest incident of the season. I give a full run down in this issue of the events that played out, as well as what Rossi, Marquez and Race Direction had to say about the incident between the two in the race, so I will not say too much more about it here as I need more than one page. ;OPZPZZ\LOP[[OLZOLS]LZH^LLRILMVYL[OLÄUHSYHJLZV0»TUV[Z\YL^OH[^PSSOHWWLUI\[ one thing is for sure is that Rossi has a huge job on his hands if he wants to win his 10th World title. Please understand everything I say in the article is from my view, and not actual truth. Just me expressing my professional opinion. A big shout out to SA rider Brad Binder, who once again showed what a World Class rider he is. Makes me so proud to see this once brace faced kid who, I used to train at Midvaal Raceway, now challenging at the front of a World Championship and standing proud on the podium. We feature Kawasaki’s all-new 2016 ZX10R in this issue. There has been much excitement behind the new green machine. It looks great and Kawasaki have gone all out. Their now “old machine” just won a World SBK title, and Kawasaki are saying this new bike is lighter, faster, more responsive. Not good news for its competitors. Our big test in this issue is by far the biggest test we have ever done. We take Dunlop’s new D212 GP Pro tyres and test them around Redstar Raceway for 12 hours. Think this might be one of the longest tyre tests ever... We entered a team into the Suzuki 12 hour race, on board a stock Honda CBR1000RR SP, very kindly supplied by Honda SA. We were supposed to ride a 2015 BMW S1000RR but BMW got cold feet right at the end. We managed to get some sponsors onboard to help out with some groceries, sent the bike to Martinus at TRD motorcycles for him to prep it, and a week later were at the race. Myself, my brother Shaun, Zenon and Jason Crookes made up the team, with Martinus handling all the dirty technical stuff. Overall it was a great event and a big pat on the back must go to Suzuki SA, Odin and Redstar Raceway for running a very professional event. Next up is the 24 hour race, on the 5-6th of December. We will be entering a team using the same CBR1000RR SP machine. This time, we will be taking it a bit more seriously and the bike is already at Ricky Morais getting some much needed TLC. Sheridan and Ricky Morais will be part of the team as will myself, my brother Shaun, Jason Crookes and Martinus. I have two winners trophies already and now want another one! Another big feature in this issue is our “Christmas Products”, where we give you some great ideas for gifts to put under the tree. I personally would love E D I T O R to unwrap any one of the products we feature. No more soap on a rope or socks cks boys!
