campaign with a moderately brief email with a proper subject line (subject lines in email are just as important as the content in the email) with an effective example would be “Radio Request”. This email should contain a couple lines explaining the launch of your new project, what the focus is, where it can be found going forward and the start time of the show or project. The next brief paragraph so be asking them for their input on what topics, concerns, ideas, challenges, opinions and feedback that they would like to give and include the email that you would like to use so this doesn’t get confused with your other emails. This should be done six weeks before the start date, then two weeks before the start and then again four weeks after your launch. Don’t forget to collect and save all email addresses for future use.

Your next point of presence should be linking your show or project to your email signatures (change the URL to a friendly name), social networking sites, blogs, any newsletters you send out and your professional email lists as well. Also, always include and email sign up option. A practice that many forget is to always include an opportunity to cross-promote, trade services or barter for services/links.

Now, let’s create a little more presence. Lets add all your show information to your website, newsletters and blogs. Let’s also not forget about the blank space on the back of most business cards, email signatures and anyplace else that you advertise. Don’t hesitate to get your information to potential guests, potential clients and potential sponsors as they will start to take notice and help you connect. Take your show and energy to the people and they will come back as they see your passion and credibility.

In the next edition we will do part 2 of this topic starting with “creating the buzz”. I sincerely hope you enjoyed this information and would love to hear from you. To reach me please email [email protected] and put MEDIA MORSELS in the subject line and I will personally answer every one as rapidly as possible. As they often say at the network “keep talking-the world is listening”. Until next time, thank you and do something kind for someone today.
