For most of our days, we are focused just on the immediate. January sparks an expansion into long-term deliberate focus, joining our logical, reasoning brain with our intuition, our spiritual tools and enough rest and time spent exercising and quieting our emotions. This combo gives us a deep connection to what we really need and really want!

The two powerful secrets to getting what you need and what you want, faster and more reliably, are (1) going after the right goal, which requires you to really, deeply know the truth about yourself, and then (2) having an action plan to get from where you are to where you want to be. That latter is what I do with clients as a life coach. The former is what I do as a transformational healer, with deep hypnotherapy.

Tackle the first part – your first step in taking the power that you need to have over your life – with my FREE 5 Tools in 5 Minutes/Day program, to allow you to de-stress and do your truth-seeking. After 14 days, you will KNOW what you need and want, and can choose one or two priorities to commit to implementing. Don’t let any goal daunt you, no matter how “impossible” it may seem! Defang the fears by using your newly-acquired skills, or your existing mindfulness, meditation, prayer or slow, quiet yoga practice time. Then brainstorm possible steps to your goal. I say possible, because many of us get so worried about “doing it right” that we waste our energy trying to find the Perfect Steps. The truth of life is that there is no way to avoid every stumble, setback or error. All we really need is as thorough a due-diligence as we can achieve with the information resources that we possess or can borrow - and the courage to take a first step. After that, we need a continuing supply of courage as we bob and weave our way toward our goal.

The most interesting heroic paths rarely show a straight line to success, and you shouldn’t expect that for your own Hero’s Path.

Remember the last time you drove in dense fog. You could only see a few car lengths ahead. So, you put your lights on, and you moved forward at a safe speed. That is how you achieve any goal that seems shrouded in a lack-of-information “murk.” You pick what seems a reasonable first step and commit to it. And you commit to keep driving for a set amount of time, then evaluate whether to pull off the road (safely) or keep going.

You do the same with your goal: no constant second-guessing, but regular evaluation as to whether you seem to be heading in the right direction.

The key is commitment to moving and evaluation. Without evaluation, you continue down dead-ends. Without moving, you stall.

These are the two powerful Non-Secrets that will drive you toward life happiness. Your evaluations may tell you that your original goal isn’t what you really want and need – so you can pick a new, better one. But you will always get to where YOU want to be. And that is always the place of happiness!
