Loving Holiday Mode

Happy holidays, Lovely! I hope you have some amazing things planned and are looking forward to spending time with loved ones. I have a question for you: ARE you looking forward to spending time with your intimate partner? If not, I would like to give you some amazing things that you can plan for over the holidays that will bring you and your partner closer together.

The holiday season is a great time to reflect on where you are in your intimate relationship and how you can get to where you want to be. For some people that might sound really exciting; but for others, it might be a thought that brings dread.

For you, does more time together in your relationship mean more fun experiences together? Or does it mean more arguing and fighting? The reason I ask, is because I remember being a little girl on holidays with my parents. It was meant to be fun, but in fact, often these fun times ended up being awful because we would all be arguing and fighting with each other! It was a nightmare! Not only was it challenging then, but when I look back at our memories and the life that we were creating, I realize that those supposed-to-be-fun times were lost opportunities to really connect with each other.

I’m not saying that is the case for you, but let’s face it, we could ALL do with a bit of inspiration on how to connect more with each other. Wouldn’t you agree?

Here are some ways that you can spend time connecting with each other over the holidays and enjoy your time together, making great memories:

♥ Discuss what you would BOTH like to achieve over the holidays over dinner or a brainstorming session so that you are both on the same page about what the other wants.

♥ Make sure you factor in FUN stuff to do together, so that you are building your loving memory banks together.

♥ Build in time to connect with just the two of you – especially if you have children or are with other family members.

♥ Spend time getting to know each other a bit better by doing

a few little personality assessments, such as:

o Understanding your love languages www.5lovelanguages.com

o Knowing your personal strengths www.viacharacter.org

♥ Take lots of photos and create a holiday album that you can reflect on later in the
