The trails of Santiago form the most famous pilgrimage of the Christian world. The final destination is the city of Santiago de Compostela, but there are many starting points , from several European countries. Among the most famous is the Portuguese trail departing from the city of Porto, in Portugal

Day 1: Welcome to Porto

The city of Porto and the entire northern region of Portugal is renowned for its traditional cuisine. At night, with the whole group together, we go to a typical restaurant, where we will have our welcome dinner! Our hotel for the first two nights in Porto, Quality Inn Porto, is perfectly located, between the commercial area and the historical district, a short distance from the bustling Ribeira, on the banks of the Douro River!

Day 2: The City of Porto

Start the day with a walk towards the historical city centre. The first highlight: the imposing Sé Cathedral and the Clérigos Tower. Descending to the lower part, on the banks of the River Douro, the view of the "Eiffel Bridge" over the Douro is magnificent! And on the other side of the river, where the cellars of the famous Port wine are, the view is also a spectacle! In the afternoon, we will have a tasting of this famous Port wine!

Day 3: Barcelos

Today we start our bike ride! Our bikes are waiting for us. And there we go, leaving Porto to start our adventure on the Camino de Santiago! From Porto we go northwards, bordering the sea. And then toward country’s interior! And through the green hills we reach the destination of today: Barcelos. Aha, here comes the famous colourful roosters of Barcelos! The old town, with its charming alleys, is located on a hill above the river Cávado. With the electric bike, the uphill ride is not a problem.

Day 4: In the land of Vinho Verde

After a hearty breakfast, we began our walk to the Puente de las Tábuas, on the Neira River. We pass through a sea of vineyards and by cycling we experience everything much more intensely.

Our destination today, after 34 km, is the medieval town of Ponte de Lima, known for its famous Vinho Verde. Our small group has become a community of friends, so the wine tasting is really a lot of fun. We spend the night at the modern Spa-Hotel Inlima
